About Me

And finally a really great setup by Vio the POV.1, easy to use off-road and on the street bike, a remote that works and a waterproof, self contained recording head that runs 4-5 hours on 4 Rechargeable  AA batteries or 10 hours on Lithium. 720X480 30 fps video and 520 TVL resolution. Also has a built in microphone to the cable. this picks up great sound. Only mod I added was a foam windscreen. Firmware upgrade allows for 8G cards.

Rear Camera is the VholdR

I started using it on 3/18/08, so far it is just about bulletproof, and outputs great video.

I have 2 basic setups; one for street riding and one for the track.
The track setup I run 2 bullet cams, one forward under the front fairing, and one under the rear tail. One camera a JVC GR-DF550U is mounted on a Sportbike Cam mount on the tank. The 2nd is a Sanyo  Xacti HDA1 High Def camcorder. this is for shooting through the windscreen only, it has 4G SD card but no A/V input.

Bullet cam is the: CVC-6800EX HEAT 6mm Weatherproof Bullet Camera  with 470TVL

Had to change the layout for the 636 not as much space.

For street  riding with the 636 I Mount the JVC GR-DF550U on a Sportbike cam mount on the gas tank and run both bullet cams into a switch that allows me to switch between front and rear cameras.

Sound is a Nady 151 Wireless mic mounted on the front fork out of the wind stream. Receiver is mounted in the trunk and feeds audio into the camcorder.

Cameras are powered by the bike battery and are turned on and off by a switch under the fairing.

For editing I use Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum.

Wiring Diagram

So far for the new Gixxer K7 I am using the Sportbike cam mount and the Sanyo Xacti until I have time to wire the new setup.
